Unfortunately, the below events have since been cancelled by Southampton City Council due to concerns around coronavirus. Read the statement from BOATS2020 for more information.
As we begin to return to something a little closer to normality, marine enthusiasts will be excited to know that two notable boat shows are set to take place this month! Southampton Boat Show and The Ocean Village Boat Show are both running from 11th – 20th September.
Southampton Boat Show 2020
Southampton Boat Show has been altered this year to make it COVID-secure, so it’s in a much smaller format than usual. However, there will still be 90 boats at the event in Mayflower Park and 60 exhibitors showcasing the latest marine products and equipment. The show, renamed this year to BOATS2020, has been developed so that attendees can social distance and enjoy the boats in a safe environment.
The Ocean Village Boat Show
The Ocean Village Boat Show will be displaying over 80 models across 30 different power and sail brands in Ocean Village, Southampton. The event organisers are following government guidelines to make this event both safe and secure, by staggering visitors and monitoring numbers. The boat show is organised by MDL Marinas, who also organise The South Coast Boat Show, The West Country Boat Show and Thames Valley & London Boat Show, which are all set to return in 2021.
BOATS2020 and The Ocean Village Boat Show will be displaying a wide range of new power and sailing yachts, with new orders typically being placed for delivery in 2021.
In previous years, there would also be a number of used boat shows taking place on the south coast. Unfortunately, due to challenges surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, it has proved difficult to run these on the same scale. However, the above boat shows will be a great way to get your boating fix before the year is up.
Arkle’s marine specialist Tom Milne will be attending both shows and will be able to help with any marine finance enquiries you may have if you’re looking to buy your own boat ready for next summer. You can email Tom directly at email@example.com.
